25 Random or not so random things about Krista
1. I grew up in Calgary, Alberta, Canada where, yes, it is freezing cold! I don't necessarily like the cold, but I don't hate it, and I love playing in the snow and doing fun winter activities :)
2. Even though I grew up in Canada I never learned how to ski or snowboard. I know. Shocker. I went snowboarding once when I was in grade 7 with some of my friends, and none of us really knew what we were doing. Needless to say I was extremely sore the next day. This past Christmas I did learn how to snowboard, though. TJ's family tradition on Christmas Eve is to go skiing/snowboarding, so I go to go! It started out a rough day...but I picked it up pretty quick and ended up having a lot of fun!
3. I hate the heat. I would so much rather be cold than hot.
4. I had never been on an airplane until August of '07. I flew all by myself from Calgary to Chicago for my best friend's wedding :)
5. I'm SUPER paranoid about eating 'bad' food - anything undercooked, past the 'best by' day, etc.
6. I'm majoring in MFHD (Marriage, Family and Human Development) at BYU in Provo, UT and I absolutely love it! People make fun of it all the time and say it's the "mom" major, and I have my rebuttals to that :) It's a great major, and I someday want to get a Master's and work as a guidance counselor in a school.
7. I got married to the wonderful TJ Emrich in July '08 and I couldn't be happier :)
8. I love singing in the car. I really hate the radio, though. It drives me crazy. If they could actually play music all the time, great. But I hate when people talk on the radio...unless it's the Fan 960 (sports station back home:))
9. I love sports!!!! Love 'em. My favorites are basketball and hockey. If I could, I would play and watch them all the time.
10. I also love music. I play the piano and guitar, and I used to play the violin.
11. I taught piano all through high school to make money. It was the best job ever. I loved my students, and my mom still teachers a few of them :)
12. I broke my foot 2 years ago playing capture the flag. that was a fun experience :) Crutches on BYU campus...yay!
13. I worked road construction to pay for college. And no, I was NOT the flag girl! I actually worked on the road crews with all the lovely, wholesome men :) First year I worked on the manhole crews, and the next 2 I worked on the grade crews (we built all the stuff underneath the asphalt in the road). I actually did like working there, and it definitely paid well.
14. I went to "joy school" when I was little. It's kind of like preschool...ish. Some moms who had kids the same age got together and set it up that once a week we would all go to one house and do some activity and learn things and have fun. Apparently I was pretty bossy, and I would tell whichever mom was driving us all home exactly where to go and who to drop off next.
15. I really like to organize/clean things. I'm a very organized person. Even if it seems like there are stacks of things everywhere because I don't know what to do with things, they'll be organized. I also like routines.
16. I absolutely LOVE cookies! I could eat them all day every day and not get sick of them. Probably just sick from them :) And I make delicious cookies. Truly.
17. In junior high my friend and I snuck to a school dance. Stupidest thing ever. We got caught :)
18. I love aerobics!!! Make fun of me all you want, but I love aerobics. Step aerobics, dance aerobics, oh ya. so much fun. I look ridiculous while doing them, but I think they're so fun.
19. I have the cutest and funniest nieces. They crack me up all the time. And they're adorable. And I'm very excited to have a new nephew in May!
20. I hate the "letter grade" system--aka giving out A's B's C's and D's. I like percentages so much better. They're more accurate, and I feel a lot better about myself when I get a 94% instead of an A.
21. I'm a perfectionist.
22. I can't take naps. I really just can't fall asleep. Mostly I'll be thinking about everything I need to get done.
23. I love making lists and then crossing things off when I do/finish them. It seriously feels so good to cross things off. And if I remember something I already did, I'll write it down and cross it off :) If I don't make lists, I forget things.
24. I'm pretty competitive. Ok maybe a lot competitive.
25. I have the greatest friends in the whole world :) I really have been so blessed! I don't know how I deserve it.
Hope you enjoyed it!!! :)
