Fun in California

A few weeks ago I (Krista) flew out to California to help out my sister, Sarah, while she was having her third baby! 3...Sarah, you have 3 kids! That's so crazy. And I love them all :) So I got to play lots and lots with the girls, and it was so much fun!!! Definitely exhausting, but so much fun.
After we dropped Anna off at preschool, Katie and I went to Target and played :) We found lots of cool things, including Lightning McQueen sunglasses.
I don't know how many of you have played with these things, but they have things that are almost like little nails and you can make your hand print, or your face print in them, and they're really fun to play with. We played with these for a while.
One day we took the girls to Broadway Plaza (is that what it's called? That's what I remember...) and threw pennies in the fountain. Katie also tried to swim in the fountain...
Me with the silly girls at the fountain :) I think this picture is so funny.
In-N-Out Burger....mmmmm! So yummy! This was a must-do in California, and it was so delicious.
Katie definitely enjoyed being able to play with whatever she wanted while Anna was at preschool. We built a tower as tall as Katie! And it really did stand all by itself!
The girls blowing bubbles in the backyard. Katie is so cute when she blows bubbles. If you look at her mouth, you can see she doesn't qutie understand the way your mouth is supposed to be for blowing. She'll put her bottom lip against her top teeth and blow...it's hilarious :)
These girls were VERY excited about their new baby brother coming home from the hospital, so we decided to draw a little banner with sidewalk chalk!
My cutest new nephew!!! This is Blaine Hunter Robertson. Seriously adorable.
And I LOVE this fo-hawk. So cute! It cracks me up. This is not styled, this is just the way his hair is :)
Me and the girls had a couple picnics inside watching Disney channel. They loved it.
Anna got to paint while Katie was taking a nap.
Anna and I played quite a bit of soccerball (yes soccerball, not soccer) in the backyard. She's pretty good too! She beat me every time. Apparently I need to work on my soccerball skills :)
One night I took the girls to McDonalds for dinner, and they had a blast playing in the little play area they have outside. They would just giggle and scream sliding down the slide, and hold on to each other and slide down.....crazy girls.
My last day there I took the girls to Chuck E Cheese's! I thought my head might explode while we were there....but it was so much fun! When we got there, there were SO many people, it was insane. But, we stayed there long enough that it was relatively empty by the time we were getting ready to leave. These girls seriously had a blast. Look at all those tokens!
I love this picture of Anna. I just think it's cute. I know Katie's face is a little hidden...sorry Kate :) They rode the little carousel for quite some time.
And of course, we had to get some Chuck E Cheese's pizza!! Here's Anna enjoying the goodness.
And me and Katie.
Anna found this racing game that she LOVED, and I just love this concentrated look.
So I thought the girls would just kind of like the water in this game, but Anna was actually really good at it! Totally surprised me.
So, of course Katie had to have her turn playing the game. She actually did pretty darn good too! I just love how she had to sit on the seat just like Anna did, even though she could barely reach. Haha!
Not matter what way I turn this picture on our computer, it always comes up this way on our blog. But I think it's cute, so I posted it :)
All good things come to an end, so I flew home after a wonderful week of fun! TJ was pretty excited to have me back :) And I was definitely excited to see him, too! He even bought me these beautiful lillies! My favorite :)
Hooray for California!!! So glad I could go out there. Seriously! I miss you Anna, Kate, Blaine, Sarah and Christian! Hopefully TJ and I will both be able to come and visit you soon!

Jam and Track Highlights

*NOTE* We have now enabled anyone to comment on our blog, so please leave us your comments! We love reading them :)
We made strawberry jam for the first time tonight!!! We are quite proud of ourselves :) Ps please note the strawberry splatter marks on TJ's face from mashing all the strawberries. Hopefully you can see it in this small picture, but if not, click on it and see them on his face and neck :)

We kind of overestimated how many strawberries we would need. There are 16 little butter containers, one yogurt container and 3 pint size jars. And we used about 1/3 of our berries :) Good thing we love jam!!!

This is TJ running the 4x100 meter relay last weekend. He's the 4th leg. They ended up 3rd overall, with a time of 42.6 seconds. When you see TJ get the baton (around the final corner), he's in the second lane from the left. (All the rest of these are videos...just so you know.)

This is TJ running the hurdles last weekend. As you can see and hear, it was pouring rain. TJ is in the lane second from the right. He ran a 15.04 seconds.

This is TJ pole vaulting, clearing 15'7".

This is TJ clearing 16'1" - his personal best for the season and almost the regional mark!

And this is what happens when your steps are off...:)

Monthly Bloggers Unite!!!

So apparently we're really bad at keeping up our blog...woops. But hopefully we'll be better now that I (Krista) am not in school anymore :) So, we're going to take a trip back in time...starting with the most recent events, going back to about a month or so ago...:) We've had some really nice weather here in Provo, so on Monday we decided to take advantage of it by going on a little picnic!
Our little picnic in the park: blueberry muffins, granola bars, apples, teddy grahams, cheez-its, junior mints, and water. It doesn't get much better :)

Last weekend was a pretty eventful one! Brad and Angie (Krista's brother and his cute wife) both walked for graduation! Here they are, clearly very excited.
My little brother, Josh, just finished his Freshman year at BYU! So proud. So my parents came down to pick him up to take him back home for a month until he comes back to the MTC on May 27th! Josh decided that he wanted to go through the temple for the first time while my parents were down so that he could have most of his family here :) He went through the Draper temple, and it was amazing! Beautiful temple. We're so proud of you, Josh!
Me, outside the Draper temple.
Going back to conference weekend.... Whitney (TJ's sister) flew out from Washington to visit for the weekend, and we had a ton of fun! And she got us tickets for conference :) Sunday morning we drove up and watched the first session in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and it was awesome. Then the weather was so beautiful that we decided we would eat the lunch we packed in the back of the truck! We laid a blanket down and enjoyed eating in the sunshine in the parking lot :) (pictured below) The picture above is us outside the conference center after the last session of conference, which we were able to attend with the tickets Whitney brought down for us. Thanks Whitney!!!

There is this duck pond that is only a couple blocks from our apartment, and TJ has, for the longest time, been wanting so badly to go feed the ducks. So we've been saving these old, nasty pretzles for about 7 months, and we finally went and fed the ducks conference weekend. It was a lot of fun :)
Whitney having fun throwing pretzles at...I mean to the ducks :)
TJ was seriously so excited. It was so cute.
TJ also had a track meet conference weekend on the Friday. It was pretty darn chilly, but he still managed to do well! This is the only good shot I got of him pole vaulting. He cleared 16'1", almost the regional mark!
For the month of March, I (Krista) volunteered for a couple hours every Saturday in an assisted living center (old folks home). I absolutely loved it. I got to play Bingo with the old ladies, visit with old people, help with their cooking club, give the ladies manicures, and lots of other fun things. For Easter they had so many fun little crafts and games for all the grandkids that were invited, and all the elderly participated too. This is one of the crafts. My cute little bunny :)
March 27 was a big day! The third annual Charity Ball and Auction was quite the event! It's all about students giving back to their community, and TJ and I were on the committee that planned, organized, and ran the event. It was definitely a lot of work, but it was well worth it! We raised over $12,000! We had a live and silent auction and then a dance. Above you can see one of the yummiest things you've ever tasted. The cup itself is made of chocolate and inside it has cake, mousse, berries, and it was so delicious!
More of the catering. The lady that did it was seriously amazing. EVERYTHING was so tasty.
Me - dressed up for the Charity Ball. Thanks to Angie/Angie's sister for letting me borrow the dress!
Hooray for family!!! All of us dressed up at the Charity Ball, having so much fun! :)
So I bid on one of the silent auction items...and I won it! It's got 2 t-shirts, m&ms, skittles, hot tamales, skittles, cookies, and Spiderman!
