So it's been a while since we blogged..... :s woops. So we get to play catch up on the last 2 months!
July was definitely a fun and busy month. We went to Chehalis on July 1st, which just happens to be Canada Day!!! So when I got there, I found these in the kitchen. Whitney had decorated :) The ding dong wrapped in tinfoil is supposed to be a hockey puck. Love it.
Here are some of the fireworks we did.
Then it was back to Utah for a couple weeks...and then we went somewhere else.
This beautiful scene is at Lake Powell :)
A year already?! That's crazy! People always say that the first year of marriage sucks, that it's the worst, etc. etc. but I totally disagree. This year has been amazing and so full of fun and laughs, also crazy times, hard, rough and trying times, but overall it has been a lot of fun. We've grown so much closer together and to the Savior, built a lot of memories, and it's just been fun to work out all the little quirks and to make things work together. It really is fun making our home and marriage together.
So here's us on our one year anniversary!!! It still doesn't feel like a whole year...it's gone by so fast.
My aunt and uncle have a boat, and they were down in Powell for a few days before we came, so we went and crashed their party :) We just camped on the beach in our little tent. We had an awesome campsite.
This is Lu braiding my hair on the back of the boat :) Thanks Lu!
Powell is just so beautiful.
Jeff and Lu did some skiing. This is Jeff with a sweet rooster tail.
This is me showing off my pro flagging skills.

So it was pretty dang hot down there, about 105 degrees, so we found this nice little shady spot to eat lunch and take a cool swim. The water is cooler up by the Escalante where we were, and the shade made it even nicer.
We went and hiked up some indian ruins at Escalante and it was a lot of fun! And nice that they were in the shade :)
The view. I love this place.
TJ in one of the little houses of the ruins.
Peek-a-boo!
Another view from the top of the ruins.
Outside one of the little houses.
So we came back to work...and this is what TJ looked like after he pressure washed a building for a couple hours.... (he works for the roofing department at BYU)
July 24th is a holiday in Utah called Pioneer Day, and it's like almost bigger than the 4th. It's kind of a big deal. It was nice because there were fireworks on sale again! So we bought a couple boxes of pop-its and a pack of ground bloomers to play with. And, as you can see from this picture, one of these is not like the other.........
We lit one, then left it on the ground to do it's thing, and we just heard this loud POP! And then we saw the bloomer half way across the street! It just blew up! Both ends blew out. I wish I could have got a picture of TJ's face, it was priceless.
Hooray for people getting married!!!! This is one of my best friends, Roz, and she got married last weekend, so we went to their luncheon. Pretty sure we were the only people that weren't family, besides like maybe one of her roommates or something. Pretty awesome. Here's the happy couple! So proud *tear*
All of the food was super yummy, and then they had this delicious chocolate cake for dessert.....mmmmm. Are you salivating yet??
Me and Roz. Friends since grade 2 :)
Me and TJ after the luncheon. Doesn't he look handsome?!
Another exciting thing that happened was that I GOT MY GREENCARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And so did my brother, Brad!!! So, in celebration, we decided to have a "green" party. We all wore green, had green pizza, a green salad, and green rice krispie squares for dessert. So much fun.
The dough may or may not have been a little sticky...
