Thanksgiving 2010

I know, I know. It's already after Christmas and I'm barely posting about Thanksgiving. It's just been so busy! I've been meaning to blog, but it just hasn't happened. So things are just gonna come up here as I get to 'em :)
For Thanksgiving break we got together with my family. We all went out to California to Sarah and Christian's place (my sister and brother-in-law). TJ and I were lucky enough to get to spend a whole week out there! It was fantastic.
Anna lost her 2 front teeth while we were there! All she wants for Christmas....
TJ and Blaine were buddies. It was really cute watching them play together, mostly with balls and cars - Blaine's 2 favorite things.
We played a lot of Wii the first few days because it was rainy, so we couldn't do much outside. It was fun to just hang out and relax, and these girls are hilarious to play with. TJ and Katie were a team and they were pretty focused and intense :)
My ipod touch made me a hot topic for a while. We played a lot of Tic Tac Toe.
Thanksgiving Day was a lot of fun! We did some relaxing (and Wii, of course)
We went to the park and had a Turkey bowl and played some games
Yes, TJ and I are on the little baby swings...but the girls wanted the big swings
This proves that my mom is basically the coolest grandma ever. How many grandmas do you know that will go to the park and slide down the slides?!
Thanksgiving dinner was quite the feast, I must say. We all helped with slicing, peeling, baking, etc. and it turned out great. Angie made her mom's delicious orange rolls.
Christian smoked the turkey. Doesn't it look like it should be in a magazine? It was delicious!
All of us at Thanksgiving dinner
Dad and TJ gladly deboned the turkey.
That turkey will get you every time...and then you'll get caught on camera! HA! :) Nap time was inevitable.
Blaine loved licking the beaters with whipped cream on 'em when we were making the pies
Mmmm, pies! Pumpkin, 2 apples, and a banana cream.
Friday we all took a trip to Baker Beach and had a picnic and played in the sand. It was definitely a highlight of the trip! Sarah had these lawn chairs that have little straps on them so you can carry them like a backpack, and I felt like Buzz Lightyear when I had it on. This is my "to infinity and beyond!" pose.
Our little picnic with yummy leftover turkey sandwiches
Then it was on to the sand! The boys went straight to digging and building rivers and moats and such.
We also built many, many sandcastles.
Our favorite thing was to line up as many sandcastles as we could to make a little village and watch the waves crash over them.
Me and my beautiful mother hangin out on the beach
Us on the beach :)
We even managed to get a family photo! (everyone minus Josh)
After the beach we drove down Lombard Street, which we didn't get good pictures of because it was dark, and then went down to Pier 39 for dinner. We had a yummy seafood dinner!
Then we walked around the pier for a bit and did some shopping.
Saturday we went and saw the new movie Tangled in 3D and it was awesome! It was really cute. The funniest part was Katie (our niece) laughing so loud because she thought everything was hilarious. I would definitely recommend the movie--it's a good one. This is Anna, Angie, and Brad. Anna was glued to that movie the second it came on, so much that she couldn't even look at the camera for a picture!
Blaine and Christian weren't able to come to the movie with us, so we made sure to take home some popcorn for them. Blaine was sure excited about it :)
And that was our Thanksgiving break! It was SO fun to be with family. I just wish we could all live closer. Thanks Sarah and Christian for hosting! We loved it!
