Thanksgiving in Chehalis 2011

Better late than never...
We drove over to Chehalis for Thanksgiving this year to be with TJ's family. When we got there, they had flood warnings because of all the rain they had been getting. Luckily the heavy rain stopped the day we got there, and they cancelled all the flood warnings. I almost got to experience my first Washington flood, but I'm kind of glad I didn't :) It's still weird to me that flooding is "normal" in Chehalis.
This is how high the water got. This is the slough right in front of TJ's house.
The water actually went down really fast, which was nice for the boys. They were able to go down and walk around the field and hunt for ducks. They didn't get any, but they still had fun :) One morning there was a big, bright rainbow in the sky, and you can kind of see it in this picture. Also, I love the camo. It makes me happy :)
A lot of our Thanksgiving break was just relaxing and hanging out with family. And eating. Eating a lot. Including a lot of rice krispie squares.
And we got to hang out with our little niece, Jane! She's getting so big! It's hard being far from our nieces and nephew, but we love when we do get to see them. She's kind of blurry in this picture, but she's still cute!
We also went clam digging! We got lots of razor clams, and only a few steamers. Here are a bunch of the razor clams. Yum!
And that was pretty much our Thanksgiving. We are so blessed and have SO so much to be grateful for. I love the holiday season and focusing more on my blessings and trying to really live like I'm grateful.
