Last Christmas post. I promise :)
We went to see the live Nativity pageant our Church puts on every year and it was fantastic. I love the reminder of the birth of Jesus Christ.
We tried to have someone take a picture of our family and he had a little bit of difficulty with the camera. We all got a good laugh, and I still crack up looking at these pictures.
One of our favorite traditions is to go curling!!! How fitting to blog about curling while the Olympics is going on :) We had a blast! Hunter loved to watch the stones go down the ice, point, run after them, and try to pick them up.
I'm obviously professional...
Being the skip :) (That's the person in curling that is at the other end of the ice and tells you where to aim your stone/how to curl, etc.)
There was a huge snow pile in the parking lot that had to be climbed and conquered before we could leave.
Afterward we went to Tim Horton's for hot chocolate and Timbits (donut holes).
Hunter was a huge fan :)
Other fun things we did:
Rock Band! We had a lot of fun rocking out together.
And sometimes we were pretty hardcore.
We played cars with uncles and cousins
One of Hunter's favorite things to do is help unload the dishwasher.
And other times he just wanted to chill on the couch.
We also drove around Spruce Meadows (world famous equestrian facility) and looked at their Christmas lights.
Alright, before we go any further we must revisit a run-in with the coffee table. Hunter was running full tilt and tripped right before the coffee table and caught himself with his cheek. He screamed and cried pretty good for a while, but he's a pretty tough little guy. It is the only time he's ever really let me put ice on him or help in any way, so I knew it must hurt really bad. In the rest of the pictures the injury is very evident, so now you know the story. This picture is right after it happened. It swelled up instantly and got some good bruising.
The next morning. Poor little dude. It turned all colors of the rainbow, as you will see in the following pictures.
We were very fortunate to have good weather almost every day while we were in Canada! There were only a couple days we didn't go outside, and one of those days we took everyone over to the church gym to get energy out :) Angie snapped this cute picture of Hunter playing with a ball. I love it.
This is my grandparents with all of their great grandchildren!
My parents with all their grandkids, minus Zach. This was at the Calgary temple which we drove up to one day.New Years Eve dinner at Wendy's!! Even just typing that makes me laugh. We had planned on going to Peters' Drive-In for dinner (the yummiest shakes you will ever have in your life, and amazing burgers and onion rings. side note: I can't have the shakes or onion rings anymore, but hey, the burgers are good!) There is only one in the entire city of Calgary and it's way up North, so we were super disappointed when it was closed when we got there!!! It closed at 4 pm on New Years Eve day, and we got there at 4:45. Boo! We decided to try the next best option of a good burger place by my parents' house only to find out that it had closed already, too! Urgh. So, Wendy's it was :) And honestly, it was great. And Hunter's eye is extreme colors in these pictures.
Reverse matching :)
Sundance Lake puts on a pretty great firework show on New Years Eve so we went to that. Hunter loved playing in the snow and he absolutely loved the fireworks! He is an Emrich, after all ;)
