Puerto Rico: The Beach

Our whole trip to Puerto Rico was amazing, but I think the beach wins for being the favorite :) This post is mostly pictures.
Here's our little man all suited up and ready for the beach!
This was our walk to the beach. So beautiful.
Hunter managed to trip and fall, scraping his elbow and leg, just before we got to the beach. Oh that boy! What a cutie with his bandaid though, right??
This. This is an awesome day. Warm water, warm beach, the best company. Ahhhh, the life!
Our little spot on the beach. So perfect!
Hunter wasn't so sure about the ocean at first. He looked at it and thought it was cool but didn't want to go near it.
I had to persuade him to touch it. He wasn't so sure.
We tried just sticking him out there in his floatie. Not a fan. At all. I think the ocean moving freaked him out.
But after a bit he was pretty content playing in the waves :)
By the end of the trip we couldn't keep him out of the water!
I tried playing in the waves too. Some were just little ones, easy to resist.
Others were slightly larger. I got knocked over, flipped around, and water all up my nose! Worth it for the picture.
Speaking of waves...we did a lot of boogie boarding! We had a blast!! This is Pops (TJ's dad).
I'm sad this is the only picture I have of TJ boogie boarding. He totally rocked it!
Me and Kaeli. Such an awesome picture!

Even Mima got in on the fun!! (TJ's mom) And she was totally awesome!
We put Hunter on a boogie board in the ocean and he didn't like it all that much. He just wanted to pull the board all up and down the beach by himself!
This is one of my favorites from the trip :)
We had a blast playing in the sand, too. Hunter thought it was hilarious when Mima buried his feet.
Speaking of feet, baby footprints are adorable!
When we got back to the house we had to hose ourselves down to get all the sand off, then hung our suits up to dry.
We were also able to catch some beautiful sunsets there. Hunter just loved being on the beach!
I am so lucky to call these wonderful people my in-laws! They are the best ever! I am so glad we got to share this trip with them.
And I am so blessed to call these boys mine :)
And that wraps up our trip to Puerto Rico! I would absolutely love to go back one day. There are a lot of things we wanted to do but just didn't have enough time. So, see ya later Puerto Rico!

Puerto Rico: Wedding and Adventures

The wedding reception was right on the ocean in the most beautiful location. It was a short, sweet ceremony with family where the couple exchanged rings. They had been sealed in the San Diego temple a couple weeks before. Seriously, the beauty of this place kills me!
We were there earlier than everyone else because TJ was the best man. Hunter loved running around and cheesin' it up :)
How could you not snap pictures of this cuteness?? We took as many pictures as he would let us.
This was the coolest tree!! And it was huge. There was an area in the middle you could walk around in with a bench to sit on as well.
At the reception they had a really fun photobooth to take pictures in with fun props.
Puerto Ricans sure know how to party! And very loudly as well ;) We discovered Hunter's LOVE for salsa music!! This kid was bustin' out his moves like Jagger that night.
Shifting gears...
We couldn't keep Hunter away from the pool. We even ate breakfast by the pool one morning.
There were a couple hammocks at the house. Perfectly relaxing.
Reading a book by the pool in the absolute perfect weather. Ohhh, the weather!! It got up to about 85 every day and cooled off to about 75 at night, so it was always the perfect temperature to be outside.
We discovered Hunter's mad skateboarding skills!! Seriously. This kid was amazing with his balance. Much better than I would do! For real. And he obviously loved it :)
Puerto Rico has some really awesome caves so we explored la Cueva Ventana (the window cave) in Arecibo one day. There was a short little hike up a trail,
then we went down into the cave and explored the stalactites and stalagmites, listened to the bats (creeps me out!)......
then we came to this beautiful opening! This is where is gets the name of being the window cave. This is a panoramic shot, so it might look funny on here. But you can see the Rio Grande of Arecibo (the river) and the beautiful greenery and mountains. Absolutely beautiful!
Family picture in the cave. Hunter does have a helmet, it's just fallen off to the side in this picture.
After the caving adventure we went to El Coayuco, La Cueva del Indio where they have filmed numerous movies, including the beginning of Welcome to Hawaii (hah!). The Indians used to hide out in the holes from the Spaniards. It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.
They had ladders to go down into some of the holes
Exploring down inside one of the holes in the rocks
Some of the holes were big ones you could go down, but you really had to watch your step out there because there were some that were big potholes and others that were just a huge hole! I love this picture. Look at that blue!
When you walk into this area you go to the left to look in all the holes where the Indians used to hide and see all the lovely beach area pictured above. When you go to the right you go to Los Arcos (the arches) and you see this.
This made me never want to leave. Ever.
In the parking lot when we were letting Hunter burn off some energy we found a hermit crab. Hunter thought it was so funny to touch it!
One more post, coming up!
