California Trip 2014

Our family did quite a lot of traveling this summer! So be prepared for multiple blog posts. We had an absolute blast going lots of different places. If we can't live in the same state/country as our families we are at least grateful we are close enough to visit pretty easily!
Hunter and I started off our summer travels with a trip to California to visit my sister! TJ had to work. I wanted to do a trip before Hunter turned 2 so I wouldn't have to pay for him! Haha. On the flight out to CA there was a really nice girl across the aisle from me that had a little newborn with her and an empty seat next to her and asked if I wanted to switch seats. Yes! It was awesome having the extra seat but not having to pay for it :) I can now see why they make you pay for 2 year olds. This kid did SO much better in his own seat! He's a little big to be on my lap the whole time. That said, he didn't have his own seat on the way home, but he did sleep on me the entire way, so it wasn't all that bad. But really, this is the life on the plane! A movie and some snacks. Life's peachy.
Unfortunately we caught some crazy bug on the plane and I was sick 90% of the time in CA! Boo. Hunter caught it too but he was only sick for about a day and a half. So we spent lots of time cuddling on the couch watching movies.
We also ate our fair share of saltine crackers.
I'm so grateful my sister has a backyard!! That was my saving grace when I wasn't able to leave the house :) Hunter loved eating popsicles in the back yard.
 And playing with his cousins!
Hunter LOVES his cousin Zach. The first night we were there I was holding Zach and Hunter put out his arms, reaching up to me. I thought he was jealous. Nope. He just wanted to hold Zach!
I'm grateful by the end of the trip I was feeing better. The best part about feeling better was that I could eat FOOD! De-lish.

This girl is near and dear to my heart. Megan and I were roommates at BYU 8 years ago and have been the best of friends ever since. She now lives in CA about an hour and a half from where my sister lives and she was sweet enough to drive an hour and a half each way to come visit me for a day! Our boys are a month apart in age so it made it really fun, and crazy. Hunter was napping when we took this picture, he's not just being left out ;) This girl is a gem. Thanks for coming to see us!
Even though quite a bit of our vacation was spent at my sister's house we were still able to get out and do some fun things. And go to church with this handsome little man. He kills me with that bow tie.
We were able to go to the park one afternoon,
We also had a pool day!!
That sums up our trip to California!
